Chaparral House - Solo Recital
June 18, 2006
On Father's day, Annie performed the 2nd (d minor) and 6th (D Major) Bach unaccompanied cello suites at Chaparral House, 1309 Allston Way, Berkeley, CA. Chaparral House is an independent, non-profit, skilled nursing eldercare community with a very life-affirming creative culture.
Attendance was a full house; admission to the public was free, but attendees were invited to donate gifts to the residents.
"Thanks for putting on such a great show! The Bach Cello Suites have to be some of the most gorgeous music ever written, and I'm thinking # 6 is my absolute favorite! You played beautifully and had the audience in the palm of your hand throughout."
"Thank you for a wonderful performance. What you created was truly special. By bringing in folks from the outside, you effectively brought our elders into the larger community outide the nursing environment. What a wonderful gift and how truly creative. It has turned my thinking in a new direction. May you continue to flourish!"
